Movimientos presents a night of the freshest rhythms with two very exciting international guests, Brazilian dancehall queen Lei Di Dai and Japanese DJ Go Kiuchi!

One of the hottest names in the international music scene, Lei Di Dai will be joining us fresh off the back of the release of her long anticipated 2018 album. For over a decade she has been diving into the natural madness of São Paulo’s bass culture taking inspiration from Jamaican sound systems, and we can’t wait for her to unleash her unique style live with us at Pop Brixton!

Japan’s DJ Go Kiuchi will be on hand before and after to keep things moving with a fiery mix of grooves from all around the world.

A singer, composer and social entrepreneur, Lei Di Dai’s music is a blend of dance beats and awareness-raising and positivity-inspiring lyrics. Born in a family of samba musicians in the eastern area of São Paulo, she began singing professionally in 1998, with band Camarão na Brasa. Later performing under her stage name Lei Di Dai, compliant to her law only – as lei means law in Portuguese – the singer was dubbed Brazil’s Dancehall Queen by Rolling Stone magazine, in 2006.

Over the past ten years, Lei Di Dai has been organising dancehall parties in São Paulo and is the founder and MC of the “Gueto pro Gueto – Sistema de Som” sound system. Having performed at various festival around the world, primarily in Brazil and the UK, Lei Di Dai is currently focused on her international career. She launched her new album, Crazy Bass, in August 2018 to celebrate 13 years of her solo career.


DJ Go Kiuchi is a Japanese DJ from Osaka. He plays a wide range of groove based music, from Afrobeat and afrodisco, to salsa, cumbia, disco, house, funk and jazz...

He has been a producer, beatmaker, guitarist, DJ and organiser for over 20 years and his original dance tracks have been released on some European labels. Currently he is a member of Groovalizacion Radio, a worldwide music community.

Master drummer, community spokesperson and religious leader, Mestre (Master) Chacon leads the most decorated maracatu carnival band from Recife amassing over 100 years of tradition and resistance - Nação do Maracatu Porto Rico. Performing with London's very own Baque de Axé, Mestre Chacon will take Hootananny on a journey of Afro-Brazilian roots music, celebrating the mixed heritages and diversity, referencing Angolan, Yoruba and indigenous culture.
