MOVIMIENTOS RECORDS is coming! Our new record label launches at the party with WARA ep ‘Flesh and Bone’. Movimientos Records will pioneer the newest and finest Latin sounds straight from the scene we’ve been integral in developing.
WARA are truly one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from the London Latin scene with their blistering take on Cuban timba and salsa mixing it with Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Reggae and Dubstep. We’ll welcome another Movimientos favourite on the night, the unique Lokandes with their re-interpretation of Latin music, this time bringing the rhythms of the Andes bang up to date with a very funky twist.
Upstairs early there will be a screening of 'Mama Choco' presented by Refuge in Film. The short documentary follows Paulina, a displaced mother of 26 children, in her quest to find a place that she and her family can call home in Cali, Colombia.
PLUS Resident DJs Arias and Cal Jader fire up the dancefloor with their incendiary mix of Latin beats from salsa and cumbia to electro-tropical bass, urban and global beats AND the all-Brazilian crew Udigrudi host upstairs with their uplifting party blend of Brazilian beats, tropicalia, afro-latin sounds, reggae and funk.
See you there!!!
Movimientos Present: Camo Clave + Joro Afrobeat + The Indios + Movimientos DJs
Movimientos are back for another funky Friday fiesta with forward thinking tropical vibes from Bristolians Camo Clave bringing the Cumbia and Latin brass mixed with electronics and dub. Plus London’s latest Afrobeat explosion Joro and Colombian indie upstarts The Indios and Movimientos DJs firing out Latin beats all night.
Movimientos Present: Radio Palenke + First Word Pros + Sifaka + Movimientos DJs
Movimientos presents another full powered Saturday night taking you on a musical trip through Latin America and the Caribbean with an afro-centric twist. Radio Palenke fly in from Paris with their heavy tropical sounds, First Word Pros bring their African infused Hip Hop and electronica and exciting new soulful Leeds project Sifanka making their Hoots debut.
La Linea Festival: Eliane Correa & En El Aire Project + London Lucumi Choir
Following the debut album released in 2016 on Movimientos Records Eliane Correa’s Afro-Cuban Jazz inspired En El Aire Project makes it’s debut at La Linea with The London Lucumi Choir also on the bill to coincide with their own 2nd album release.
