Movimientos Presents: Conjunto Sabroso + Immigrant Swing + More Peas + Ru Robinson

Movimientos are back with another spectacular Hootananny night filled with rhythms keep you dancing all night long! This month gracing the stage will be Latin swing veterans Conjunto Sabroso. Joining them are Immigrant Swing, known for their energetic blues sounds. Finally, we present More Peas, with their funk-punk beats and grooves.

CONJUNTO SABROSO
London All-Star Latin Swing
One of London’s most established and popular Latin bands, Conjunto Sabroso are renowned for their authentic swing and lively presence on stage, featuring vibrant horns and powerful percussion, keeping audiences glued to the dance floor wherever they play.

Led by outstanding multi - percussionist Wilmer Sifontes from Venezuela, and fronted by charismatic Colombian singer Luz Elena Caicedo, the band has brought together some of the most experienced musicians in the Latin circuit, to produce their own distinctive and original sound.

IMMIGRANT SWING
The Self styled masters of Riot Swing direct from Bristol
Bristol based Riot Swing band, merging Manouche Jazz and Blues rhythm section with Beat Poetry and multilingual lyrics. This energetic festival group has played at Bestival, Ealing Jazz Festival, Bristol Harbourside Festival and Refugee week amongst others. Immigrant Swing has featured in English, Colombian and Italian television, as well as well as local radio on, Ujima, BBC Radio 3 and BCfm.

MORE PEAS
Punk-Funk Bass, Beats, & Latin Grooves
Sweat-drenched basslines and grooves straight out of Parliament, layered with sultry punk vocals inspired by the likes of ESG and The Slits, all with a touch of feminism and unitards. This London punk-funk trio are destined for big things

RU ROBINSON
Ru is recognised for smiley, exciting and original DJ sets, satisfying a range of varied bills across the UK. His broad collection of global music is lovingly selected for the dance floor, with focus on the diverse sounds of Latin America and Africa, often delving into the irresistible influences of funk, dancehall and swing.

Sounds from across the Latin American diaspora come together at Hootananny, as Lokandes present their fresh take on traditional Andean music, alongside Mr Pineapple and Okvoy’s Latin fusion and Jimena Angel’s electronic Colombian rhythms. DJ Talacha & Cal Jader will be on hand throughout the night alongside MC Fedzilla keeping things moving and connecting the dots.

Somos Guerreras: Rebeca Lane, Nakury, Audry Funk - London debut!

Founded as a series of workshops, talks and concerts for the empowerment of women in Central American and Mexican hip-hop culture, Somos Guerreras was soon consolidated as a collective of seasoned artists comprised of rappers Rebeca Lane (Guatemala), Nakury (Costa Rica) and Audry Funk (Mexico). From the beginning, the crew has focused on providing spaces of reflection, honing in on the challenges faced by women in hip-hop to find creative solutions and establish new alliances.
