DJ Cal Jader hosts the monthly fiesta for an uptempo Latino-Caribbean-Tropical soundclash vibe where classic rhythms get bastardised and twisted up for the modern dancefloor. The final party of the year sees the return of Lisbon / Dublin based DJ iZem - a veteran of previous Muévete nights and part of our extended Movimientos family - who's star has been rising in the last few years with his own unique hybrid productions joining the dots between cutting-edge beatmaking and post-tropical influences whilst getting props from Gilles Peterson, Quantic, and XLR8R amongst many others.

PURE TROPICAL PARTY VIBES!!

A favourite for Saturday night crowds in West London, Muévete is a monthly fiesta - a pure party version of Movimientos, with a dance floor-slammin' mash up of raw Latin beats and tropical bass. From the rolling Latin rhythms of salsa, cumbia, merengue and Samba to the raw urban flavours of reggaeton, Hip Hop, dancehall, moombahton, baile funk and dutty carnival rhythms, incorporating a healthy dose of African beats and global underground music.

Put simply Muévete translates as 'Move it!' so we're not beating around the bush - straight to the dancefloor!

Bio iZem

French producer and DJ iZem started writing music during a 7 year-long musical adventure through Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Ireland and Portugal. iZem's unique hybrid sound joins the dots between cutting-edge beatmaking and post-tropical influences. His first EP, released in 2011, featured Brazilian and Irish vocalists and was heavily played by radios and DJ's around the globe: BBC's Gilles Peterson and KCRW's Anthony Valadez are some of his early supporters. His second EP was released in January 2013 followed by a series of remixes for labels like Soundway, Agogo, ZZK records, Wah Wah 45's, Mais Um Discos which brought regular airplay on BBC Radio 6, KCRW, Funkhaus Europa, LDBK and many radio stations worldwide.

The Bongo Hop + Imperio Bamba

Movimientos return to the Hootananny for a night of powerful Afro-Latin sounds. Fresh off the back of their latest album release we are incredibly excited to welcome The Bongo Hop as they take us on a transatlantic journey through the sounds of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora, alongside Imperio Bamba, the London based group whose Latin American roots are championed through their psychedelic cumbia sounds.
