AY CARAMBA! Back by popular demand Tropicalista returns for a right rocking tropical, global, carnivalistic latino, samba rave up. After the success of their incredible sellout summer boat party three of London's leading latin club nights return for the essential party switch into 2012. To make the whole party go with an extra festive bang there is authentic live music provided by London’s finest samba, drumming outfit Eri Okan. Expect a full on afro-latin bloco show with traditional costume, dancers and singers for a midnight new year crescendo.
For the last ten years ERI OKAN have been fusing original street culture from London with afro block rhythms from Brazil. The result is a compelling batteria of rhythmic sound fused with the influences of Afro Beat, Reggae and folkloric traditions. With a drum section of over twenty percussionists backed up by the singing and songwriting talents of Xavier Osmir (Brazil), Marcina Arnold (UK) Tracey Milliner (UK) and Rebeca Valim (Brazil) they really are a tour de force and the real deal.
DJ Cliffy (Batmacumba) will be playing his unique mix of sassy sambas, favela funk and vintage vinyl plus a mind-blowing selection of new Brazilian bangers from techno-brega to baile funk mash-ups.
Russ Jones aka the Hackney Globe Trotter brings the red hot vibe of his twisted Colombian, Cumbia, Chicha party Arriba La Cumbia to the mix spinning the finest classics to the latest ghetto club bangers.
DJs Cal Jader & Arias spearhead the new Latin and Tropical underground sounds in London their sets mix Salsa, Cumbia and Merengue with Urban Latin beats with Hip Hop, Ska and Reggae, alongside the freshest Tropical bass and global sounds.

Plus special guest on the night welcoming up and coming London-based global dance producer Subculture Sounds.
