WHO

Orchestre Du Mont-Plaisant are a baroque group born in London, bringing together global rhythms and cinematic scores. Largely instrumental, they play blues and cinematic scores with influences soaring between Afro-Cuban grooves, Ethio-jazz, Congolese Soukous and Cumbia. The live experience is a testimant to the diversity of the new global music scene exploding in Europe...

RELEASES

Graham Mushnik and Luke Warmcop (Guess What), Juste Voyant and Andrea Pirovano (Pissinboy) all joined forces to create their LP (2011) where the fresh sounds of Cumbia, Afro-Cuban grooves and eastern tempos meet with the band's personal songwriting. "Three quarters of the full-length vinyl are purely instrumental, might it be for a dancy tune or for a moody cinematic moment. The remaining quarter, sung in Italian, connects this soulful jungle of sounds to a more European field, almost baroque. An eclectic, yet consistent first album for any world-beat aficionado." WHERE

The band has already toured and performed in France, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. They've also recently done a session with the inimitable BBC 6 Music and played mad venues across London. These guys are just getting started so watch this space...
