It was about time Wara had their own official music video and so here it is – the title track from their debut album ‘Leave To Remain‘ showing exactly why we love them so much – with their vibrant mix of next generation Latin music and conscious social commentary. High tempo energetic music with a message. Filmed at various locations in London and Cuba it includes scenes featuring London’s immigrant communities, Seven Sisters and Ridley Road markets, startling street scenes in Havana and an epic rooftop sequence finale.
For the London shoot it we enlisted the help of our longtime friend – filmmaker Mikey Watts whose powerful documentaries we’ve consistently screened at Movimientos over the years – to help add an element of social realism and added to the beautiful scenes of Havana undertaken by bandleader Eliane Correa the video evokes a fascinating clash of cultures – just like the music itself. Enjoy!
