DJ Cal Jader is one of the founders of Movimientos London and champion of new wave Latin music. His sets bring people together with the freshest Latin and global sounds, combining classic rhythms with contemporary cutting-edge and urban beats with a London twist.

Where he’s played: Cal Jader DJs across London and the UK festival circuit (Bestival, Secret Garden Party The Big Chill). He has played around the world from Istanbul to Llubjana (Slovenia), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Mexico City amongst others. He’s Djed at shows for Manu Chao & Radio Bemba, Calle 13 (Hackney Empire), Ska Cubano (Koko), Chocquibtown (Electric Ballroom/Jazz Cafe), Los De Abajo (Ollin Kan Festival, Mexico City), and Novalima (Cargo) .

Cal has compiled several CDs of homegrown global and Latin music for London's Camino Bar and the Global Local project and he recently compiled the Beginner's Guide to Latin America for Nascente Records. He’s also playing resident nights in London with Movimientos at Rich Mix, Notting Hill Arts Club, Camino, Passing Clouds and Hootananny.

Viva Colombia!

From the classic Discos Fuentes 70s/80s era to carnival sounds, we'll be transporting you from the bustling musical hubs of Bogota and Medellin to the Caribbean coast, Barranquilla's Carnival vibes, Cartagena and Valledupar with the feeling of Cumbia and Vallenato parrandas, the Cali salsa style and Afro-Latin rhythms from some of the finest Colombian musicians around in the shape of Conjunto Sabroso plus special guests Nirk Molina "UK Vallenato Kings" to bring the best colombian vibes.

We're back at our spiritual South London home @ CLF Art Cafe - Bussey Building as we host Madrid’s finest exponents of Cumbia and Tropical beats Guacamayo Tropical who have been smashing the tropical scene in Madrid for 6 years now - spreading the traditions of Latin-American and Tropical music, merging them with new rhythms and flavours.

Tropical Pressure Festival London Launch

Back in Brixton for another funky, eclectic, tropically fired fiesta… this time welcoming Tropical Pressure Festival for their London launch party. Get ready for a fiery blend of African and Latin rhythms, roaring brass, funky bass and a psychedelic accordion! We welcome Afla Sackey & Afrik Bawantu, led by Ghanaian vocalist and djembe drummer, Afla Sackey. Plus Pollito Boogaloo bringing Afro-Colombian tropical vibes with their mix of Cumbia, Vallenato and Puya and Tropical Pressure DJs with a selection of tunes celebrating the rich cultures of Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Cinco de Mayo

Celebrating Cinco De Mayo with a mix of international live music, DJs, female Mariachis, traditional dance, food and decor with a Mexican twist! Borchi y Su Doble Redoble come direct from Mexico fusing hip hop breaks with brass band fire, Malphino launch their highly anticipated debut LP with a mystical blend of tropical rhythms and all female group Mariachi Las Adelitas bring their unique mariachi flavour to Pop Brixton. With traditional dance from Mestizo Folklore and Atlachinolli Aztec Dance whilst DJs Coco Maria, Borchi, and Cal Jader bring the vibes from the decks before and after, keeping you moving throughout the day and night!
