Movimientos presents another funky Friday fiesta with Latin, African, Jazz and global sounds for the dancefloor. This month sees London's finest psychedelic, tropical, transatlantic rhythm outfit Family Atlantica hot on the heels of the release of their amazing second album “Cosmic Unity”. Plus support from Skint a powerhouse trio bringing heavy beats, big riffs and fiery improvisation with their take on dance music from across the globe. And DJ Cal Jader brings heavy Latin, African and Caribbean vibes in between and after the bands.

Family Atlantica
London-based psychedelic, tropical, transatlantic rhythm outfit with a line up and sound that straddles the best of both sides of the Atlantic. They join us hot on the heels of the release of their second album “Cosmic Unity”

The group is led by London born Jack Yglesias, producer, multi-instrumentalist and a veteran of The Heliocentrics, and his wife Luzmira Zerpa, traditional Venezuelan musician, poet and singer with a magical voice acclaimed by Manu Chao. In 2008, Luzmira traveled to the Sahara Desert in the south of Algeria to participate in the Fi-sahara Festival. While there she performed with Manu Chao who introduced her to the audience as the most beautiful voice to arrive to the desert.

Skint
A powerhouse trio bringing you their take on dance music from across the globe. Expect heavy beats, big riffs and fiery improvisation coming from three of London’s finest.

DJ Cal Jader brings heavy Latin, African and Caribbean vibes right through the night.

BaianaSystem + Flavia Coelho + Prince Fatty

BaianaSystem is one of Brazil’s biggest and baddest live acts. Coming straight out of Bahia, the group not only amplify sound, but also the essence of local traditions. Influenced by Jamaican sound systems, huge percussive bass lines merge with Afro-Latin rhythms such as Frevo, Samba-Reggae, Pagode, Groove Arrastado, Ijexá, Kuduro and Reggae to create a truly unique sound. Inseparable from their music, the band’s distinctive visuals add a further dimension to their live shows.
