Movimentos Summer Fiesta @ Passing Clouds

Movimientos is back with a special international guest: Simja Dujov (Argentina) with support from UK’s Gypsy Butter. It’s Summer! So come and get hot & sweaty at Passing Clouds.

Following our jam-packed Spring Fiesta at Passing Clouds and two Love Carnivals at Bussey Building, Movimientos are back again with a stellar line up for:

MOVIMIENTOS SUMMER FIESTA AT PASSING CLOUDS?

With top international act from direct from Buenos Aires Simja Dujov

Dujov brings his troupe of Argentinian musical mavericks to blast you with a blend of Latin Cumbia, Balkan chords, Jewish music and Cuarteto. Perfect for getting into trance on the dance floor. Energy and cheerfulness into the party.
A happy soul in Argentina blends sounds of the world.” - Forward

And to Launch their New EP, Gypsy Butter bring an eclectic mix of flamenco, jazz, latin, and gypsy music with upbeat and contagious rhythms that are guaranteed to draw a crowd. Expect powerful sax solos and driving guitar riffs complemented by accordion, big bass lines and whimsical bi-lingual vocals that speak of romance in the city and love spurned.

Keeping the dancefloor jumpin’ in between Movimientos are happy to welcome:

iZem is a journeyman DJ, Producer, Radio Presenter and beat raconteur. Often writing music whilst crossing continents, the only place iZem allows dust to settle is in the heart, heat and rhythms of his local-global, analogue-digital, genre defying, futuresounds. His debut album, "Hafa" is dropping imminently and new single Agua Viva (Feat. Nina Miranda) just out.
An exciting take on Brazilian music” - Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 6)
This tune is so good that I had to cut a dub plate 45 to play it out” - Quantic

Flying direct from his base in Brasil, DJ Cliffy is one of the most influential UK selectors and promoters for Brazilian and global music in the last 15 years with his seminal club night ‘Batmacumba’ that turned droves of people onto quality Brazilian beats

Upstairs Udigrudi's Larissa hosts a journey through classic Samba and tropical vinyls with guests.

All this on top of the usual latin, tropical and globalista good vibes over two floors at Dalston’s finest musical hub Passing Clouds. Join us to start the Summer off right!

The Bongo Hop + Imperio Bamba

Movimientos return to the Hootananny for a night of powerful Afro-Latin sounds. Fresh off the back of their latest album release we are incredibly excited to welcome The Bongo Hop as they take us on a transatlantic journey through the sounds of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora, alongside Imperio Bamba, the London based group whose Latin American roots are championed through their psychedelic cumbia sounds.
