This New Year's Eve the Tropicalista fiesta returns to Rich Mix for the 7th year running with the best Latin, African and tropical vibes hosted by Movimientos and Arriba La Cumbia and this time the global good vibes are extended the venue is opened up for a 2nd room, hosted by the festival specialists Lizard Stage bringing an extravaganza of Gypsy, Eastern and Balkan beats.

Movimientos' DJ Cal Jader alongside Arriba La Cumbia's Russ Jones & Carlitos Niño will hosting Room 1 spinning old school to future latino, tropical beats . And live onstage The London Cumbia Allstars band specially curated for NYE will herald the midnight hour with some heavyweight cumbia, salsa & vallenato classics with a crack team of some of the best players from the London scene.


And upstairs there's a chance to go on a journey through the east with: The Turkish turbo folk masters The Odd Beats fronted by the queen of the scene Dila V, Bulgarian groove wizards Gipsydelica, legendary Gypsy Hill's beat maker DJ Kobayashi and the Armenian global beats Dj and Lizard Stage's own DJ Couscous. Expect colourful Indian marquee decor, festival vibes, friendly faces and magical surprises with an eclectic mix of Gypsy and Eastern melodies from far away lands that make you shimmy like no other.


To top all of that Rich Mix will look like you have never seen it before transformed into a paradise of illumination, moving image, costume and exotic decoration. This event is always a full house so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment and prepare to get truly hot and sweaty for a new year's eve carnivalistic fiesta celebration into 2017.

Movimientos is London’s most prolific latin music and events organisation. 11 years and running this year alone they have promoted over 30 events, programming over 10 festival stages as well as continuing to release UK based and international Latin acts music via their Movimientos Records imprint.

Arriba La Cumbia is the brainchild of DJ Russ Jones. It has been a regular promotion at the infamous Passing Clouds venue for the last 7 years, there's been a much celebrated compilation, as well as hosting sessions at Bestival, Roskilde and Paradise Gardens festivals. His joined by Latinos In London .


Lizard Stage are one of the most infamous musical nests of the festival world. Having programmed their stage at festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party for the past 20 years, Lizards know all about world music and global beats. They are also specialists in cosy indoor decor, home made chai and colourful festival friendly vibes.

Waykiki Boys + Camo Clave + Los Gusanos

Movimientos are back at the Hoot with a tropical feast for the senses! Paris-based band Waykiki Boys will be bringing their unique mix of Peruvian cumbia, electro and surf music to South London fresh off the back of the release of their latest EP. Alongside them, also with newly released tunes, Camo Clave return to Hootananny with their 21st century tropical party, as traditional Latin American rhythms meet modern day electronics. Los Gusanos’ hard-swinging Latin jazz & blues is sure to get the whole room grooving, and of course Movimientos DJs will be on hand to keep the party going before and after with an eclectic mix of Latin and tropical beats!

Brazil Carnival Special: Big Ben Jorge + Unity Inspiration + Aleh Ferreira + DJ Tigas + DJ Lorioca

Movimientos present a night of Brazilian beats celebrating the almighty carnivals of Brazil, from the Afro-Brazilian blocos of Bahia to the Baile Funk sounds of Rio’s favelas. Big Ben Jorge will be presenting their explosive Samba-Funk music live, alongside Aleh Ferreira and Samba-Reggae drum ensemble Unity Inspiration. Keeping things moving before and after DJ Tigas will be on hand with his eclectic mix of beats from MPB to Brazilian Funk, as well as DJ LoRIOca, connecting the dots between London and Rio de Janeiro with some Baile Funk & Brazilian Bass.
