FILM: The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil
Cuba, an isolated island nation, rebuilt its quality of life following the collapse of cheap oil, supplied by the former Soviet Union. Little Voices, Moving Stories
Director: Eduardo Carrillo
Duration: 20min
The conflict in Colombia through the eyes of displaced children.
Eduardo Carrillo's short film Little Voices.
Little Voices is a film made with children who are displaced and victims of violence in Colombia. This film is driven by children's stories, which they told using their own voices and drawings. The result is a unique and powerful hybrid of documentary and computer animation, rooted in the real experiences of displaced children in Colombia.
Little Voices has won several prices in Spain and Italy and a special mention by UNICEF prize International Television Festival in 2003.

Children of the Andes (COTA)
Children of the Andes (COTA) is a UK registered charity that provides support to Colombia’s most vulnerable children by working in partnership with local NGOs.
COTA was established in 1991 to support children living on the streets and in the sewers of Bogotá, following a documentary by the British film-maker Desmond Wilcox.
Our aim is to provide relief from the effects of violence and poverty and to promote longer-term development through a range of education, health, protection, and peace-building initiatives.
We work to defend the rights of the children who need us most: street children, working children, child victims of violence and children with healthcare needs. Wherever possible, we also provide support to the children’s families, in order to understand and tackle the root causes of problems.
Cuba Solidarity Campaign
Cuba Solidarity Campaign is a solidarity and campaign group, like all countries Cuba have the right to self determination, national sovereignty and have the right to chose its own social, political, economic and cultural development. Implicit in this approach is fundamental opposition to the blockade and sanctions of American imperialism and all foreign intervention which attempts to undermine the achievement of the Cuban Revolution and the Cuban people.
Colombia Solidarity Campaign
Colombia Solidarity Campaign is an anti-imperialist organisation, campaigning for a socially just and sustainable peace in Colombia based on respect for the human rights and diversity of the Colombian people.
