What shows up on the front page is determined by the Administrators of the website

conditions to make the website understand what goes on the front
> page's intro bits view appear on the front

currently those conditions are:

• a post created as 'event' page
• correct dates has choosen - for front page + upcoming dates when dates are in the 'future date than 'now / today' the time you posting the page
• that means if you choose a past date there it wont appear on the FRONT or UPCOMING views -because they are not - logical!
• Plus the pages indicated as on each post on -at the bottom of the editing a page

Publishing options

• Published
• Promoted to front page
• Sticky at top of lists
• Create new revision

Now if you go back to the FRONT page
and edit on the pages/articles that they should not be there, you will see they are all 'Promoted to front page' ticked indicated somehow

so now go to each page which is on the front page and find the publishing options and leave tick ON Published but TICK OFF ' Promoted to front page'

and bingo! they are not on the FRONT anymore
