Summer Love Carnival

13.06.2015
#FLAWA2020 has prepared a night of non-stopping dance with Ms Nina, a young multidisciplinary artist from Argentina currently based in Spain. She achieved international recognition as a net artist, exhibiting at Junior High (Los Angeles), La Térmica and La Fresh Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Spain. Her musical career has made her one of the key figures to understand the Latin rhythms that sound in Europe.

We’ve got the king of Afro-Brazilian Bass, Maga Bo straight from Rio. With collaborators the likes of Mulatu Astatke, Issa Bagayogo and releases on Tru-Thoughts, Ninja Tune, Cumbancha, and Soundway. His current project Kafundó Records is a series of compilations focused on the explosion of new music mixing bass and electronic sounds with regional folkloric afro-brazilian rhythms. Bo’s heavy stripped back take on Brazilian roots and bass is floor shaking and speaker breaking, carnival at its filthiest.

Here comes the sucker punch! North London brassophiles are making the journey south with a new spin on their act. Brass Knuckles bring spine-tingling hip-hop licks, some tasty latin and tropical flavours, as well as a generous portion of bass for your face and the purest of UK garage classics. Inviting a couple of extra-special lip-splitting vocalists on the mic, be warned - this is not for the faint-hearted.

Upcoming UK-based half German / Chilean MC, rapper, slam poet and host Fedzilla specializes in multi-lingual lyricism, transferring her raw energy directly to the crowd. Versatile to any setting, she spits international flows ranging from Ragga to Hip Hop. Also currently performing as part of the majestic 9-piece London-Havana soundclash Wara.

To celebrate the launch of their book about the music and culture of Peru, Sounds and Colours will be offering a glimpse of the country's culture with special guest DJs, short films and more. Behind the decks will be Peruvian DJ Qrichi, part of the Eck Echo crew in Berlin, who will be bringing a mix of old and new Peruvian vibes.

He will be joined by Boiler Room regular Selectorchico from Uruguay, in the UK to promote his new project Revisitando Macondo so expect classic dance grooves from Montevideo in the 70s alongside the finest new tropical bass. They will be accompanied by a selection of short films and audio-visual treats to get the night off to a stormer. Make sure you arrive by 10pm to get your Peruvian fill! And of course 200 page book Sounds and Colours Peru will be available too.

And not forgetting hosts Selecta Mad Max and Cal Jader running through the spectrum of fresh tropical riddims from Cumbia to Afrobeats, Dancehall, Moombahton and much more, plus we have the return of the tropical dance off contest with Jus Gana, cutting edge visuals from Oddscene and tropical decor to set the vibe nicely.
